As Chief Audit Officer for Civic Federal Credit Union, Kristen Hoyle and her team work to ensure the credit union remains secure, trustworthy, and efficient in serving the membership.

Leading the independent assurance function which evaluates business activities and related risk, she is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, safeguarding company assets, and improving the credit union’s systems of financial and operational controls.

Hoyle says, “We value members’ trust in us, in providing them with financial services tailored to their real-life needs. My job is to ensure these services are delivered in ways that make sense for the members, and from the not-for-profit business standpoint of Civic.” 

Hoyle started her career in public accounting and has spent the past 17 years providing auditing and consultative services to financial institutions. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Bryant University, and the designations of Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA). 

A New England native, Hoyle resides in Cary with her husband, two young children, and two large rescue dogs. She currently serves as a board director for the nonprofit Piedmont Wildlife Center and is an advocate for environmental protection and sustainable practices. 

When not working, Kristen enjoys cheering on the Carolina Hurricanes, spending time with her family, and watching low-stress British reality TV.
