Sherrod Warwick

VP, Volunteer FD/EMS Lending

Sherrod Warwick is the vice president of VFD/EMS business services at Civic Federal Credit Union. He brings more than 50 years of personal Fire Service experience to this role, of which 46 years have been in the banking and lending profession. Sherrod is a North Carolina native from Spivey’s Corner in Sampson County and the son of the county’s first Fire Chief.

In his role at Civic, Sherrod leads the only dedicated fire service lending team in North Carolina. His customized approach to lending helps fire stations solve funding gaps to successfully acquire trucks, equipment and real estate. In addition, he provides firefighters and their families with access to low-rate loan options.

The combination of Sherrod’s personal Fire Service experience and his financial lending knowledge provide an in-depth understanding of the financial challenges faced by fire departments—and the solutions needed for success.

Prior to joining Civic Federal Credit Union, Sherrod held senior business development roles at First Citizens Bank, Centura Bank, and Central Carolina Bank.

After more than 50 years in the Fire Service, Sherrod retired as an active firefighter having served in various roles including Fire Officer. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and holds various lending industry certifications. Sherrod currently serves on the board of directors of the Northern Wake Fire Department.

When Sherrod is not meeting with Fire Service leaders, he enjoys spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Bill Carter

Business Development Strategist

Bill Carter brings more than 40 years of consumer, mortgage, and commercial lending experience to his role as Business Development Strategist at Civic Federal Credit Union. He is a well-known and proud industry champion for the NC Fire Service. Bill is a native North Carolinian who is originally from Morganton, NC.

In 2018, Bill joined Civic as the Business Development Strategist to lead outreach for the Civic Fire and EMS lending group, the first and only lending team in North Carolina specifically dedicated to the Fire/EMS lending industry.

In this role, Bill develops and deepens all relationships within the NC Fire Service to better serve firefighters and the financial needs of their families and departments. Specifically, he is the liaison for Civic with all major fire service associations and their boards. These include the NCSFA, NCAFC, NCFFF, Western NC Firefighters Association, Eastern NC Firefighters Association, Piedmont NC Firefighters Associations, and the new Civic Fire Advisors group.

Prior to joining Civic Federal Credit Union, Bill held progressively senior commercial lending positions with LGFCU that always focused on the Fire and EMS community.

He currently serves on the advisory board for the North Carolina Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NCFFF) and has served the organization for more than 10 years as both a board member and as treasurer.

When Bill is not meeting with the Fire Service to help provide lending solutions or sponsorship opportunities to help accelerate their success, he enjoys playing guitar and collecting vinyl records.

Jason Rackley

Senior Loan Officer

Jason Rackley brings more than 20 years of banking experience to his role as senior loan officer at Civic Federal Credit Union. Jason was raised in Roxboro in Person County and has lived in various towns across the Piedmont, Central and East Carolina.

As a loan officer, Jason works with fire departments, individual fire fighters and their small businesses to provide funding for a range of departmental, personal or business needs.

Jason serves both the Fire Service community and the individual people who are dedicated to it. He helps departments and individuals better serve their communities by saving them money on the nonprofit and consumer lending services provided by Civic. Moreover, Jason provides critical guidance about the lending process to help them obtain firefighting equipment, apparatus and real estate—in addition to solving personal or small business funding gaps.

Prior to joining Civic Federal Credit Union, Jason spent four years at LGFCU as a senior commercial loan officer and held executive management roles at Fidelity Bank. He began his lending career as a junior private banker at Centura Bank, now PNC Bank.

For Jason, Fire Service is all in the family. His father-in-law retired as an Assistant Fire Chief of the Lumberton Fire Department with 29 years of service. In his retirement, his father-in-law serves as a safety officer for the Allenton Volunteer Fire Department in Robeson County. This personal connection gives Jason a strong sense of pride when he sees a financed fire truck in action; knowing he had a part in process of the department getting that life-saving equipment to serve fellow North Carolinians.

Jason is committed to community and volunteers each Sunday at the Garner campus of Hope Community Church. He is a past-president of the Apex Rotary Club and a past board member of waterfowl conservation group, Raleigh Ducks Unlimited. Jason earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree from NC State University in Fisheries and Wildlife Management.

When Jason is not helping to support the funding needs of the Fire Service community in Eastern NC, he enjoys hiking, deer hunting, fishing, and spending time with his wife and daughter.

Loren Pittman

Senior Loan Officer

Loren Pittman brings more than 15 years of financial experience to his role as a loan officer on the Fire Service lending team at Civic Federal Credit Union. Loren is a native North Carolinian who has lived in Charlotte, Greenville, Boone and Apex.

As a loan officer, Loren provides access to reliable funding sources with fair terms and low interest rates for the purchase of needed equipment to keep people safe. He has in-depth knowledge that has helped Fire departments save money. For example, the replacement or addition of essential life-saving equipment, in some cases, helps improve a fire district’s ISO rating which can lower insurance premiums. These insights help him build trust with the Fire Service industry, one loan at a time.

Specifically, Loren works with individual volunteers and employees to share helpful financial products and services and educational outreach about the mission, vision and benefits of credit union membership.

He has spent the last 10 years providing lending services to the NC Fire Service community; helping those who help others, and giving back to the community. Prior to joining Civic Federal Credit Union, Loren held senior management positions at Fifth-Third Bank and First Charter Bank serving in retail banking and consumer lending roles.

Loren volunteers regularly with the North Carolina Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NCFFF) and has previously served on the board of directors for the Better Business Bureau, Consumer Foundation and has been involved with the Chamber of Commerce. He earned a business degree from Appalachian State University.

When Loren is not helping the NC Fire departments purchase life-saving equipment, real estate or vehicles, you can find him spending time with his wife of more than 20 years and their two daughters. He enjoys traveling, hiking on trails in the mountains of scenic Western NC, and watching college and professional football.
