Activate your card

This step-by-step guide is here to help make your Civic experience faster and easier! Your experience may be slightly different than this guide, depending on the device you’re using. If you need additional help, contact us at 844-772-4842.

Device instruction type

1. View accounts dashboard

Once you log in, you will see your accounts dashboard. This screen displays all your Civic accounts and cards, and any external accounts you may have set up.

Pro-Tip

Go ahead and have your new card handy! You’ll need it to finalize the activation process.

2. Locate Card Control+

Card Control+ is found along the bottom of your screen. Select it now.

3. Hang tight!

Card Control+ is loading the most up-to-date information regarding your card. Once your card is activated, you’ll use Card Control+ to easily view and maintain all your Civic debit and credit cards.

4. Confirm card number and select ‘Activate Card’

Before you proceed, make sure the last 4 digits of the card you are activating match the card being displayed. If they don’t, scroll through the cards on your account by tapping the gray slider just below the Visa® Card image.

5. Verify your card details

A keyboard will pop up. Use the keyboard to enter the expiration date and security code displayed on your new Visa card. The security code can be found on the back of your card.

6. Choose your PIN

Your new card is almost set up! To complete the process, choose your Personal Identification Number (PIN).

For debit cards: You’ll use this number to access our network of ATMs and make purchases where a PIN is required.

For credit cards: You’ll need this PIN to perform a cash advance.
 

Pro-Tip

If this is a replacement card, you still need to set up your PIN. For security, your old PIN will not be associated with your new card.

7. Provide a security token

After tapping Set PIN, you’ll be asked to provide a security token. Choose which way you prefer this to be sent, either to the phone number or the email address associated with your account. Make sure your mobile number is up to date in your member contact information!

8. Confirm your PIN

Once you’ve successfully confirmed the security token sent to you, now confirm your new PIN.

9. Success!

You’ve done it! Your Civic Visa® Debit or Credit card is now activated!

2. Locate Card Control+

Under Accounts in the menu bar at the top of the page, select Card Control+ in the drop-down menu.

3. Click ‘Activate Card’

Within Card Control+, click Activate Card. Then, make sure the last four digits of the card you are activating match the card displayed onscreen. If the numbers don’t match, scroll through the cards on your account by tapping the gray slider below the Visa® card image.

4. Card verification

Enter the card expiration date and security code displayed on your new Visa® card to ensure the proper card is activated. 

Pro-Tip

If the information you provide is not accepted, make sure the last four digits of the card you are attempting to activate match the card displayed onscreen.
